Cancer
Five Things I learned:
- That a tumor is made of a bunch of cancerous cells piling on top of each other.
- That when cancer spreads it's called Metastasis.
- That Raditationtherapy is when they aim for a certain area with gamma rays and get rid of the cells. Chemotherapy is when they inject the cancer killing drugs in the body, where it is needed.
- I also learned that cancer can happen to anyone, half of the time it is transfered by genetics. But also there are some unhealthy living habits that can take affect on chances of contracting a certain kind of cancer.
- That Malignant means the tumor is cancerous, and benign is where the tumor is not cancerous.
Two Things I Still Have Questions About:
- What are the chances of contracting numerous cancers at one time?
- How many cancers are there in the world?
One Thing I Liked: I like this cancer project, because it made it feel like a real life situation. Not only that but I did learn a lot about what cancer is, and now I know what my Grandma was dealing with.
One thing I Didn't Like: How we only really got to learn about one certain cancer, I would have liked to have done a project for all of them, I felt like I did not learn nearly as much on the individual one.
